Interesting that someone should bring up this question. I have a dual 1GHZ MDD and have been wondering the exact same thing. I never shut mine down. It has been running for 9 days straight without sleep. And before the power outage it was up for 29 days straight without sleep, and before that 31 days straight without sleep, but had to shut it down to replace the modem. -Jonas
