A few documents here for Umax owners. I have the 2400. I also previously bought SilverfastAI for another pupose but I also use it with my scanner. In combo with Vuescan I get good results from my Umax 2400. I bought the pro version of Vuescan which I think from memory set me back $25. http://www.umax.com/scanners/index.jsp?cate=Scanners%3A+Scanning+Software&skunum=SFTW-62902#specifications http://www.umax.com/support/knowledge/search.jsp?docs=SC00217 It mentions an Acard SCSI card.
