Hi John,
Thanks for the responses. My G4 (DA) also had some sleep issues re: the
M-Audio 2496, but I attributed that to the upgraded processor (1.5GHz) that
was also part of the mix. My fix was to move up to a 1.6GHz G5.

A QY10? Working? *drool* my oldest unit in the mix is an ElectroComp 220,
where you still get to physically patch signal paths through the synth
components.

I (personally) regard ProTools and Live as really different animals (in
spite of how much PT keeps trying to improve their MIDI component), and use
PT for specifically multi-track audio projects. Live is a fabulous DAW,
though I am a DP person myself.
