I totally agree! It was such fun to make the heart of this old G3 B&W beat
again. And I loved to see how my other Macs keep runnig, to install and try
out old and new operating systems (I actually bought Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar,
10.3 Panther with Mac OS 9.2.2, 10.4 Tiger and 10.5 Leopard -- the Leopard is
the family edition).

I also liked to get Gentoo Linux running on my Dual-1.0 GHz MDD. This MDD is
now upgraded with a Dual-1.42 GHz processor card from a FW800 and it is
running 10.5 Leopard and some graphics applications at my sisters: she
actually uses it for real work.

In the end the cleaning it, putting it all together again and making it
actually work again was the best part.

To be honest, now that I have all these Macs I don't know what to do with
them. I only use the 2.0 GHz Dual Core G5, sometimes with Leopard and
sometimes with 64-bit Gentoo Linux; I use the Dual-800 G4 Quicksilver very
seldom, but the Gigabit Ethernet with the 1.4 GHz processor and the AGP
Graphics with the original 400 MHz CPU are just sitting around. The G3 B&W
with 350 MHz is now my workhorse at the office.

So at least some of them keep doing something useful.

Cheers,
Andreas aka Mac User #330250
