You're kidding..right?

Have you heard a G5 DP at full tilt? I'm half ready to believe his tall tale.

The only Apple system that I've used that was worse was a G5 XServe.

Rack servers as a rule sound like they're running turbofans off a DC-10 mounted in the back to cool them. we had a small (about 15x25) office with four people and about 20 rackmount servers going in it. It was always very hot, and we've all suffered hearing losses and tinnitus as a result of our years 'in the box'. Our new office has the servers off in a back room, and we can still hear the roar in the front part where we sit.

Do the thermal calibration. Your ears will stop bleeding and thank you for it..
