Howdy, I was guessing it might be a laptop. Can you post which laptop it is? For example, my laptop is a 14 inch g4 ibook. I am no expert on lots of Apple laptops, but I don't think anybody can tell you much without knowing what hardware your son has. Good luck, Ralph
