Why there is not a basic computer practices class I do not understand.
I have tried to teach that very class for the last 7 years. Most of my students could not care less about what I am talking about. They are there to fulfill the state requirements for a technology class and once they achieve that, they have no idea what you have talked about, because they have already forgotten it. In 7 years of teaching I have had 4 students say they have used something I taught them in a college class they had later in life. The vast majority of my students are convinced that they already know all there is to know about using a computer and they have no intention of learning more. Rarely do I get a student who is actually wanting to learn. Most of the time I get the student who tells me there is no way Ohm's Law will work. Peace, Dennis
