Dan, I have seen very reasonably priced ATI Radeon 9800s on eBay --the only caveat being that they are flashed and you would need an ADC to DVI adapter. Equally flashed Nvidia 6200s used to be readily available for a song, but apparently supplies have run low.
There are several 8x cards made for AGP G5s with ADC support that may be used taping a couple of connectors, so that's another avenue to consider. For Leopard, though, another Radeon 9000 can give you very decent performance without Core Image eye candy, and it should be able to drive the 22" ACD. They are cheaper and easier to find, and support ADC. Just my two cents.
