I've started doing something along those lines - hitting command-F after entering text, which forces FM to save any changes to the record, so it can execute a search. Then command-B back to data entry. > > Also, FM Pro uses a lot of RAM, and WriteNow may be misbehaving in > using RAM. Is WriteNow 32-bit clean? Could you use another word > processor instead of WriteNow? WriteNow has been 32-bit clean since version 3.0 (I'm using 4.0, which IIRC has had some kind of update applied as well.) Since I switched over to a single USB keyboard and trackball, rather than the daisy-chained pair on ADB, I haven't had a freeze, but it's only a couple of days and I haven't done any heavy data entry lately. Interestingly, the machine seems a bit more responsive - could be my imagination. The Logitech optical USB track ball is way better than my old ADB Kensington, but the cheapie USB keyboard I have is not as nice as the keyboard II.
