All of a sudden my Verbatim USB drive (AC320GB) will not work when connected to my Targus USB hub. The hub is powered, and the power supply seems to be working. All other USB peripherals work fine when plugged into the hub, and the Verbatim drive works fine when plugged directly into a USB port on the computer. Could this be an indication that the drive is failing? Disk utility reports all is okay with it.

Computer is a dual-processor MDD running 10.4.11.
