Yes, that's the correct port.

Probably doesn't work. The light is the way this port communicates, it's a "optical" digital audio out port.

from parts of others that were trashed in various ways, so its possible
that those ports do not work on this machine.

An optical digital cable. It's a fiber-optic cable.

Probably not, unless you have something that can accept optical digital audio output?
