I have this card in my G5 PowerMac , it's a 256 that reports in Profiler as 128, this may be common in flashed cards. My card is a flashed 9800 Pro unit with a Molex fan connection, I think the smell may be from solder flux left over from the flashing process. I noticed the smell on mine also, 2 yrs and still working.
