No they meant dual-processor. There were no dual-core PowerPC cpus ever used in
Macs. This one may have had it's cpu board replaced.

Under the Apple select 'About this Mac' then click on the More Info button.
That'll bring up 'System PRofiler' click on the 'Hardware' head and copy and
paste the info therein into an email, that'll help us ID the Mac you have.

FW 400 ports have one side that comes to a rough point. FW 800 ports are
rectangular. Just found this neat little site:

This one should run up to OS X 10.5 without any hassles, 10.2 is quite old and
there'sa lot of stuff liek modern browsers and such that is not compatible.

Try clearing the PRAM: press command-option-p-r during startup until it 'bongs'
again. Might need to get a real Mac keyboard for that.
Try replacing the PRAM battery, it's the 1/2aa 3.6V Lithium cell on the mobo;
they're pretty readily available, even radio shack carries 'em. When those get
low you run into odd issues like this, and I'll wager the one in there is
original.

The option key and alt key are the same on my Mac keyboard; use the Windows key
for the mac Command key. There are some third party applications to remap the
two into the correct order (on the mac, from the left it's: control, option,
command, spacebar, command, option, control. On a windows kb it's control,
command, option, spacebar, option, command, control)

I know that older Macs didn't work with my newer Mac keyboard, so you might
want to scrounge for a real mac kb. Fortunately the LEM google groups have a
group for that, the LEM swaplist: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/swap.html> or try
fleabay, craigslist or even your local freecycle group <http://freecycle.org>.

Yes, it's amazing (Apple's been doing 'tool-less' cases since the early 90's
and the advent of the Mac IIC) that no other manufactuerer has even tries
copying them let along doing cool case designs of their own.
