It's not too difficult.

Tower PSU,

PSU in a MDD

There doesn't seem to be one specifically for the Quicksilver, but IIRC, it's
quite like the Grey Tower (Sawtooth, Gigabit E, DA etc.,) internally.

Thanks everyone!

After some cleaning and further investigation, I discovered that the power
supply fan is binding. I had to "flip" it a few times with a toothpick in
order to get it moving, albeit rather slowly.

I suspect that this is driving the internal temperature too high, and is
resulting in the other fans running at higher speed.

It looks as if I will need to either replace the fan or power supply soon.

I know that you replaced your fan, Peter, has anyone replaced the full PSU? If
so, how difficult is it?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi everyone,

Recently I've noticed he fan on my Quicksilver G4 has been making much more
noise than usual.

I periodically clean the dust out of the interior and the ventilation ports,
but the noise persists..

Can anyone recommend a course of action? lubrication? replacement?

Thanks,
Bill
