Uh, yes, if you can't stand seeing that single line. It may take a while for 
more lines to appear, or the degradation may happen more quickly. About all you 
can do is use a second screen as the rest of the iMac itself will continue to 
work perfectly. On the other hand, I was asked recently to refurb two 
early-2006 17" Intel iMacs. They have perfect LCDs, but bad logic boards. 
Fortunately, because of the 17" iMac Bad Screen Plague, it's much, much less 
costly to replace a logic board than an LCD.

As I said, been there, done all of that.
