Hi Brandon,
Personally I don't feel that every game needs to be totally customizable by the
user. And as I said I don't want to get into the whole custom cards etc for
the monopoly game. But hey feel free to go ahead and do it up. I'm sure that
people will appreciate it.

Ok, I shall start off by appologizing, because I do not wish to offend
anybody. Now that that's out of the way, here goes. Jim, you must especially
forgive this rant. I just don't see why putting in the ability for players
to create their own chance cards, community chest cards, and whatever they
want to create into Monopoly is so difficult. I mean, yes there are a lot of
issues with files and context and programming languages and such, but
there's one simple way all of that could be solved. Something that I, with
my limited knowledge of programming, could probably do. The answer, simple
as it sounds, is a game creation wizard. Using a bunch of functions and
GUI's, players could create their own properties within the limits of the
game board, and even assign prices to them. They could set the mortgage
rates, the prices of houses, and everything. All of this would be written
into edit boxes, of course. Then, if the player feels like creating a new
chance or community chest card, they can do that as well by writing the text
of the card, and choosing from a list waht that card does. If it takes money
from the player, for example, the creator can assign just how much money. If
it moves the player a certain number of spaces, the creator could tell it
just how many. Even if it moves to a specific location, the creator could
choose from a second list containing all the locations on the current board.
It's pretty basic stuff, in my opinion. Then, all of it could be written to
a game file, sort of like a saved game, and the player could choose to play
that saved game once they've started monopoly. Just my thoughts.
Jim
Just one little typo and it made the entire code useless.
