Hi, Damien.
Unless Matt knows something I don't com audio just isn't cut out for 
high performence apps where there are very extensive soundscapes. As it 
is com audio isn't really widely used by game pro developers either, and 
I am guessing that is the same reason we are discussing.
Btw. I am not using VB, but the principle is the same behind what I am 
saying. If a game dev wants to do a game right DirectSound is by and 
large the way to go. I am using DX DirectSound 9, and am quite happy 
with it.
