Hi Tom, I liked the patch and it works fine on my system. I am not sure why in view mode on some levels it says nothing while on other levels it says sand.
I do have a comment about the distance to objects addition. Generally I try to keep 0.05 seconds between words and it sounds like you left a little more silence either before or after your words. Sometimes I will leave 0.025 at the beginning and 0.025 at the end of a word. And in my games, I try to keep 0.1 to 0.2 seconds between sentences. Of course the amount of silence to have is subjective and it does help to understand what is being said if there is more silence. There can be times when you want more silence between words especially if they are critical to be understood. Like in a code sequence or password to get to another level. Of course in an alpha these things need not be perfect. good job!
