Hi Phil,
A slight correction you said Windows 98 didn't have DirectX. Actually, 
it did. I believe it was DirectX 6 or 7. However, Windows 95, the early 
versions, did not have DirectX. Everyone had to access the sound card 
via com audio which wasn't all that great.
Anyway, live action ST game does seam to be the better choice seeing as 
we have the power to do so, and seeing how well STFC came out a live 
action would be much more the game.
One thing we would have to think about is do we want it to be like 
Lonewolf where you have 15 20 independant missions or do we want 15 
missions in a row like GTC with the option to jump to a specific mission.
