Hi Shaun, Yes, there are USB synths, but the problem is they don't necessarily work with Dos screen readers. The Tripletalk USB is a good external synth, but I believe you have to hook it up to a serial port if you want Jaws for Dos, ASAP, whatever to use it as a type of Doubletalk. The Dectalk Express USB doesn't seem to work with Jaws for Dos, Vocal-Eyes, or ASAP either from what I've heard.
