Hi Haiden.
Yes, the none stat reset is a bug. One thing Jason admits is that entombed
sort of grew as it continued, and because some ideas weren't considered in
the original creation of the game, this lead to bugs when they were
introduced later. It's just a consequence of Entombed having grown far
larger and more complex than anyone would have thought, and Jason does admit
that if (and hopefully when), he begins on entombed Ii, he will make the
initial architecture with a game more to a view of expanding and having new
abilities and class types added later. It is an irritating thing that
polymorphing was left half finished with the bug, but it doesn't ruin most
of the game, or at least not for me.
I believe the way scrolls work in the game is taking every spell and making
it into a single use form, so when the final boss was intorduced, ray of
destruction, unholy light and decrepid ash became a scroll, so I can
understand how they got into the game and why they come up occasionally.
GAther departed souls is I believe an ability not a spell, which is why it
isn't a scroll.
Again, just a consequence of the complexity of the game and the architecture
being expanded, but not one that I think is too ruinous over all.
Beware the grue!
Dark.

Hi Dark,
Yeah, the polymorphing abilities for me have always been irritating. The
ratkin are almost totally unplayable because of the fact that their stats
never get reset correctly after they revert back to their normal form. As
for the scrolls, I never understood some of those. I understand that
without
the gather departed souls, the ray of destruction scroll might not work,
but
then the question becomes why even include them?
Best Regards,
Hayden

Hi Ishen.
Some scrolls don't work, either because the scroll fails or because the
enemy is resistant, the level of the scroll will give you an idea, but
some
enemies are specifically resistant. As I remember polymorphing the drake
is
either impossible or very, very unlikely sinse it would make the fight too
easy.
As to jobs, shamans have one of themost powerful abilities in the game,
the
curse ability, which will elp a lot against the drake, lightning is a good
spell to use too. The problem with shamans however is that the only races
who can be shamans are goblins and ogres. Ogres don't make good shamans
sinse their intelligence is so low and magic damage and amount of mana is
based on intelligence, while goblinns are physically not strong as a class
so make sure you have some healing methods handy if you go that route.
Also
be careful using the tribal totem to turn into a bear sinse as I remember
there was a problem with the game resetting all your character's stats
after
they were morphed back to their initial values, which made them very
ineffective.
Necros are great. just keep ice blasting the drake in the noggin, though
again look for ways to weaken him too.
As to buying the game, I'd recommend it, it's got a full 25 floors and
twice
as many jobs and races, it'll take you hours to complete just the once and
if you thik the drake is bad, wait until you see some of the bosses
further
down.
Beware the grue!
Dark.
