Besides, you can only write so many games for free. Well perhaps that's not the best way of wording it. I mean, let's say you wanted to write a nice, hefty RPG game that would actually take some time to complete. Games like that can't really be done for free. You'd have to hire a music composer, sound designer, voice actors, all sorts of things. Then of course there's the time it would take just for the programming part. Even I, who've never written a line of code in my life (nor even seen one), can imaine ow long it must take. If even a simple game can take a few months to write, I'd hate to imagine how long it would take to write a game in the style of Baldur's Gate, which is what Castle Quest sounded as though it was shaping up to be. Games like that can't really be made available for free.
