Hi,

Quote
 I have
a few questions about game adventure file types. I have a few game files
with some extensions I am not familiar with such as .rar, .taf, and
.dsk.Are these valid file types? If so, which interpreters would I need?

The .rar files are actually compressed archives. You need to use a
program such as winrar or the free izarc program to unpack the files
into your Winfrots directory. Personally for accessibility and because
it is free grab the latest copy of Izarc which uses .rar as one of its
archive formats.
As for the other file extentions I am not immediately familiar with
them, and perhaps someone else can help out with those.

Cheers.
