Hi Tom and Dark,
I tried opening the Wishbringer file with WinFrotz, but I couldn't. I got
the following message

WinFrotz Error
graphic 287 Fatal: Unknown Z-code version
OK

Is there something wrong with my version? I am using WinFrotzR53.
I have the understanding that I should be able to open and play games
with the ZIP extension on it. Is this assumption correct? I found another
version of WinFrotz from the Wikipedia site by searching for it and going
to the interpreters for various platform link provided there. It's
labeled Windows Frotz 2002. It seems that it was last updated on Aug 10,
2007. Should I try it? .
Thanks in advance,
AC

Hi Missy,
the z5 extention is not an archive but the games actual extention. The
Infocom text adventures usually have a z5, z8, ZIP, or DAT extention. I
know it seams strange seeing a game with ZIP extention, but that
convention was chosen by Infocom long before pkzip, winzip, izarc, etc
came along and used it for their archives.
Anyway, just copy the z5, dat, and zip files to your Winfrots directory,
and run Winfrots, and it should locate the files.
