I bought them indeed to support the developers. I liked them. They were good
games. Not saying they weren't. I would always have played them before had
they been free, but when I realised, I bought them. I realised why they
charged, and in my opinion they deserved the money for their hard work and
money it must've cost them for the game resources.
As for game production, they were nothing like Acefire, if that's what
you're thinking. Acefire was of my own design. Of course I realise that much
more simple games can be made, just as much more complex ones can be too.
For example, I'm still trying to learn, and am having trouble with,
programming sidescroller games. Hmm, let's think. Sound panning? Level
writing? Difficulty levels on top? If Acefire was over 20000 lines...what
would an online multiplayer-capable sidescroller be? Sheesh.
No, it is indeed my longterm aim to start writing sidescrollers and real
shooters. Maybe even do some mixing and matching with ideas. You may see on
my website we've got several game ideas, and several more have come to us
since the writing of this page. Also don't forget that this isn't just me
either. There are a few of us working together. For example, we are close to
releasing Chopper Challenge for Pacmate.
Thanks.
Regards,
Damien
