Heya Right, I saw a PSP going for 149 dollars. the value pack that is. That's pretty good- I mean sure you can get used for cheaper, but in this case if something goes wrong you can return the system. New games retail for $24 or so. Some games I can recommend are tekin: dark reserection and, I think there's tekin 2 out right now, though I just saw that myself. I played tekin:dark reserections and found it quite accessible. It reads most things out and stuff, not the menus, but the characters. Menus you may need sited help with. The value pack comes with a 32 mb memory stick, which is huge in terms of game saves, and I doubt you'd use this for music because it would be hard to memorize the menus in terms of getting to the music. However, I'm currently in the market for a psp, and if I do get one before you do, I'll let you know how I like it. Furthermore, if you do by chance get one, let me know what you think of it. I was personally awed when I first laid hands on it. Its got half decent sound from the speakers. Also the UMD (universal media discs) don't scratch at all due to being covered with a protective plastic for when your on the go. I don't care for the buttons on the bottom (brightness, volume etc), those may take some getting used to. But overal I think the setbacks are minor. Not to mention you'll look really cool hauling it out (No offense or anything but, the lynx is a bit old, not that I don't like old systems, I love them). Its sleek and, for theose of you who haven't seen one, its basically like this:
Your UMD discs come out the back in a little door, and on the bottom, on the top, you have your volume buttons for up and down, start button, select button, brightness and sound buttons. On the right hand side you have your power/hold button. This is a sort of switch. You push it up and hold it for a few seconds to put the unit in "standby" mode, and hold it a bit longer to put it to sleep. Then push it up again to power it on. Pushing it down will put the system in hold for those people who listen to music. The left hand side has a switch for wireless on or off, its a little switch. Now most people wont mess with this, and it saves battery, so I'd turn this off if I were you. On the top edge of the unit you have your USB port, memory stick slot and UMD open button, also I think you have your AC connector and headphone jack here. On the face of the unit you have your screen, and a nub which is basically the psp's version of the dualshocks joystick. Avove that is your d-pad, and of course you have x, square, circle and triangle. You also have 2 shoulder buttons, though sadly only l and r. This unit I hear, smudges rather easily, which is why I recommend the value pack which comes with a cleaning cloth. The screen can also scratch. I'm guessing these aren't issues, but if you want to look flashy, just lettin you know. I hope that helps someone. Also gamefaqs has great FAQS on the system if you want to get into the nitty gritty.
