You're forgetting the four extra stamina. After all there comes a point when it becomes redundant to try to increase MR and you need to focus on stamina. The highest MR won't do you much good if you come u against an enemy that can kill you in a single round if you're unlucky enough to get hit with its special attack. That huge venomous serpent from Raid on Quaris-Taen is an excellent example of such a creature. I've had that thing hit me for close to twenty damage just with its normal attack, then on top of that another forty or more from its venom. It's at times like that you'll want every stamina point you can lay your hands on. I myself may just have my newest character purchase the Hale Blade for just such a contingency.
