Hey Tony,
Actually, the .NET Framework is only required for newer games such as Rail Racer, Mysteries of the Ancients, 3D Velocity, and some other games built using the Microsoft .NET platform. You will find many older games by GMA, Jim Kitchen, BSC, and others are written in Visual Basic 6 and can be installed and run on XP without any additional components to be installed.
