Hello I have to agree with Damien about vb6. VB6 is small, flexible and easy to learn. I am also learning c++, and ist a good language. But please don't start with visual c++... Grrrr.... It's terrible. It installs houndreds of programs on your system, it is large, you can't use it successfully etc...
I tell everyone who wants to learn c or c++: Search for another good compiler than vb.
