Hi Thomas,

Unfortunately DirectX 8.1 does not support Mp3 files.  Not that I have ever 
been able to figure out anyway.  I mean it will start to play them, but does 
not play the entire file.

BTW Waver can do more than just play the kitchensinc wave files randomly.

Here are what the function keys do.

f 1. say special keys. f 2. search. f 3 search next. f 4. spell file name. f 5. go to replay. f 6. go to play. f 7. test play. f 8. play all. f 9. play random files. f 12. change voice. control key adjust rate of speech. escape key go to exit.
And you can put a copy of the waver.exe program file in any folder that has 
wave (.wav) files.
