Well sinse I use Hal, that's not really a concern for me, though mudding is
one of the times when I use sapi sinse I need the text spoken instantly as
it appears on screen rather than having to read it manually with Hal.
That's another reason why i'd like to use vipmud, while I got mushclient
working with sapi, for things like review commands, and knicking words from
output to use in input, vipmud is far better for it's sapi support i find.

Actually Dennis, I'm afraid I couldn't get the soundpack from your site to
work with vip mud at all, and resorted to mushclient to play alterean
precisely because! of the soundpack.
This is a litle irritating sinse vip mud is an easier client for mud
newbies
to use, but stil, when I loaded up the game in vipmud with the sounds in
the
folder, and attempted the set sound command nothing happened and I stil
got
no sound at all.
Any advice would be very much appreciated on this one, especially because
I'd like to try creating a new character with a better combo of abilities
for solo adventuring and exploring than my last one, ---- maybe a warrior
priest instead of a priest warrior, or maybe a warrior necro.

We haven't heard anything from GMA Games either; we have a lot of
people that use VIP Mud, but as near as we can tell there's no plan
for future releases of it. The biggest outstanding issue we'd like to
see fixed is to improve the audio mixing support for compressed files,
which has made one of our soundpacks extremely large (most of the
files in it have to be released uncompressed to keep latency down.)
