Definitely core exiles is about the best web based browser game out there.
I'm addicted to it.

The best 3 things about ce are:

1. it's a truly persistent game. It never ends.
2. you can put the game down for a good 6 months and pick it up right from
where you left off. They don't delete your account for at least 180 days if
it's a free account. I did this very thing. When I went back to the game, I
didn't realise this at the time so when I decided to just try my account and
password not expecting it to work, well I found that everything was exactly
as I left it. I didn't lose any credits, resources equipment or anything. So
I just continued on. 2 years down the road am at lvl62, 40000000 credits to
my name, which isn't bad considering how much I spend and nice high ratings
as well!
3. whilst there are a lot of rl money paid enhancements to core exiles that
you can purchase, they do not give you unbelievable advantages over the free
account owners. The whole thing with core exiles is that the staff there
want every gamer whether paid or otherwise to enjoy the game regardless.
That's not to say that if you pay for stuff you aren't appreciated, you are
and they do that in the form of give aways per purchase. There's no hall of
fame that says x gamer has put more rl money into it than y. they would
consider that to be more like naming and shaming people.

Ce is a game that I really have come to love over the passed 2 years and the
staff and developers equally I have a lot of respect for because of their
attitude towards the player base. Any currant active ce players will no
doubt be aware just how much is going to be given away server wide over the
next week or 2. Whether it be due to the santa collections or the player vs
staff mech week which starts this Saturday.

So yes give core exiles a go. There's too much content to go rushing into
it. it's a game that takes work but equally you don't have to be playing it
24 hours a day either to progress.

Hi.

there are a variety of web based gameslisted in the audiogames.net db, and
indeed on the games to play online page on www.whitestick.co.uk.

Myself, i'd recommend core exiles, fly around as a space captain doing
missions, combat, mining etc.

I'd aslo recommend warriors 2, which has a truly unique item system, kingdom
of loathing (though hard to take seriously, stil good), and Gothador, though
that one requires some gynastics.

i'd also recommend looking at some of the gamebook sites, such as fighting
fantasy, age of fable, chronicles of arborell and project.aon. These are
stories that you progress through by hitting web links, occasioaly rolling
dice rpg style, but deffinately fill the roll of epic quests.

For more details, check out their pages on audiogames.net.

hth.

Beware the grue!

Dark.
