I'm not sure jim, sinse on the one hand it is realistic, though as you said
on the other it can alter the fairness of the game.
One thing perhaps that might help would be actually having the player told
when bad conditions on the course got in the way of their swing rather like
with the messages in baseball that tell you where the balls went (I know
commentary in golf matches isn't normal, but hay).
Something like "from the bad lie on this shot the ball only traveled x
amount of yards towards the green" or "the wind got in the way of that one
so it only went x yards" or "it hits some hilly ground and bounces traveling
x amount of yards", or "long grass stops the ball from rolling so it only
goes x yards"
obviously you wouldn't want that every single shot, but say when the
randomization got to a particularly large point of interference, you get one
of those messages to explain what went wrong.
this could also add some extra variety to the game and environments.
Obviously in real golf the condition of the ground and weather have an
affect upon where the ball goes as well as the swing, and sinse the
randomization is included to simulate this, ----- why not describe it?
Beware the grue!
Dark.

Hi Dark,
Yes, thank you, I am glad that you appreciate the added skill level that I
added to the golf game by adding the pressing a key for the amount of
power. It does bug me a bit that even if one presses the key perfectly,
there is still that bit of randomization built into the game. I seriously
am not sure if it would be good if I could take that out since I added the
need for precise timing sound thing.

Golf and sex are about the only things you can enjoy without being good
