I have been using ribbons for a while and honestly they are not that bad.
Its like a mobile, you have a large string and a lot of dangly bits.
These bits can go accross and are grouped.
And I think of that a lot more tidier.
I don't know exactly where something is but if I know its group its fine enough.

Hi Pitermach,

Hmm...I wasn't aware Classic Shell would work with Windows 8, but that
is nice to know. Still, it is not an ideal solution for me because I
much prefer the Start Menu that comes with Windows 7 rather than the
classic Start Menu that came with Windows 98. Now, if you have a
solution that will give me back the Windows 7 Start Menu we might have
something to talk about.

As far as Windows 8 being great I seriously beg to differ. I've never
been a fan of the ribbons to begin with and pretty much everything in
Windows 8 uses them now. Unfortunately, there is no way to get back
the classic menu bars we've used like forever.Add to it the crappy
start screen and I'm decidedly dissatisfied with the new user
interface. Obviously, this is just my opinion, but I don't see myself
upgrading to Windows 8 for a long time if ever because I flat out
don't like it. Although, my opinion might change after I have time to
grow use to the new user interface. We will see.

Cheers!
