My mistake, I had the idea that 7-128 had! used espeak for that which as I
said was one occasion where the quality of the voice actually made playing
games difficult.
Sinse however I do! have realspeak daniel for my sapi voice, i would
obviously prefer that in terms of quality if the game is going to output to
something and I'm not reading with orphius. I find orphius human sounding
voices the best compromise betwene speed, responsiveness and
comprehensibility, and personally much prefer them to eloquence. i just
can't understand why they no longer ship with supernova and you need to
download them separately, indeed I think dolphin made something of a
mistake there, just giving you the choice betwene the system heavy and
therefore somewhat sluggish vocalize (which supernova starts with by
default), or the synthetic orphius voices or eloquence, which respond
quickly but are somewhat robotic.
I was really pleased when supernova version 6 first came with the orphius
human voices preinstalled, and have been using them ever sinse (indeed I
have backup copies of them just in case).
