That's what I thought, too. But I remembered that someone else had the same problem on an Email list at one time, and this solution was suggested. It worked for them, so I tried it, and got success. Weird, but true.

Now, that is down right weird. Jim Kitchen's Winkit setup has nothing
to do with Sapi other than the fact his game menu uses Sapi for speech
output. Otherwise it really sshouldn't make a difference one way or
the other.
