Ken,
You have an interesting point. Presumably Methane is the model gas and any
reasonable copies should be considered as being synthetic.
unfortunately methods entailing organic production do have some disadvantages
involved with, environment, space, and time.
Which brings me to the question Iv always wanted ask:
Is it possible to get more gas production
from "Microbes" if they are working under pressure? This is not a pun.
If animals can survive under say 20 antmospheres, Under simillar pressure,
would the Metobolism of microbes increase, giving a higher yeald of Syngas?
Not knowing from which orifice the individul bug delivers the gas from, the
possibility remains; "force feeding in this way"might increase production,
If so, the foot print of the production unit could be reduced to "Shade Tree
size"
.HAPPY NEW YEAR

Subject: Re: [Gasification] Syngas on Wiki_
To me, the relatively new technology that blurs the division that you folks are
debating, between Producer gas/Woodgas/Syngas, is the fact that all of these
processes can be used to make liquid fuels by microbiological fermentation.
Stay in Wiki but switch to "Syngas fermentation".
"Syngas fermentation process has advantages over a chemical process since it
takes places at lower temperature and pressure, has higher reaction
specificity, tolerates higher amounts of sulfur compounds, and does not require
a specific ratio of CO to H2[2]. O.K. its not a pushover, but it is commercial!

To me, with a background in Biogas as well as Woodgas, this is the way to go.
