That reminds me - my son Shane found out that he has been accepted into UF
freshman admissions and is eligible for the Honors program.

I'm really proud of him, but the excitement level isn't as high as it would be
in a lot of your households because, despite having grown up as, and still
being today a huge Gator fan today, it's not his first choice of schools he'd
like to attend.

Depending on if he's accepted into the other schools he's applied to, and
whether or not attending any of them will be financially possible, he may still
end up at UF.  I've tried to tell him that it only makes good sense to go to UF
for undergrad at least, since he'll be virtually throwing away Bright Futures
money if he goes out of state.

We'll see, but in the meantime it's kind of bittersweet for me - I'm excited
about the possibility of him being a UF student, but I'm afraid to get too
excited about it, since I'll be crushed a little if he goes somewhere else.
