When I decided to retire from American Airlines in August, I thought I'd have no problem finding a job...I mean I have a college degree, I'm 50+ and had a longevity record with my previous employer. WELL, was I ever wrong. Fortunately, I've been substituting and that keeps me busy, and I just started a temporary job as a Reader for 4th grade FCAT writing assignments. That's FLORIDA Comprehensive Assessment Testing!!! Can you believe it?? And let me tell you, some of these essays are hilarious :-) The director rains praise on the Florida DOE and how precise they are in the grading of these essays. Two readers per essay!
LIke I said, it's temporary but when you've been perusing the classifieds for months, this is a welcome opportunity. Pays not great, but it's pay!! Good luck everyone.
