I seem to be the only person on the list who took it wrongly. But, since it was me it was directed to I reserve the right to take it wrongly. Just kidding. Any way, I apologize too for being so touchy about it. Thanks to everyone who felt a need to help out here. Now, back to Gator stuff. It wasn’t until I read your message, Zeb, that I even thought of the standalone word ‘boy’ in that phrase and all the negative connotations that go with it. I grew up riding and training horses and ‘easy boy’ was something you said when a horse got agitated to calm him down. Where I live, it’s just a common way of saying ‘ hold on, don’t get upset, let me explain’ when someone starts to get angry about something. Seriously, Oliver, if you took it as the pejorative use of ‘boy’ then I do apologize. Nothing could have been further from my mind. Just how old are you ancient one? Just a view from the bleachers, but I read the phrase in the sense of trying to calm a dangerous opponent, such as an attack dog. I am familiar with the other pejorative uses of the term "boy," and didn't read any into its usage here. -Zeb <BR --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~--- -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us
