Mine has an HDMI output, but a composite input. I WOULD help with troubleshooting, but I don't get Sun Sports. All of the ESPN and CBS gator games transfer from DVR to DVD just fine for me. I don't think that it is specific to SunSports. If a device fails the handshake, the digital signal ceases.
