Who are you talking about? I vaguely remember the name... ----- Original Message ----- From: Randy Lyons To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, November 30, 2011 7:47 AM Subject: RE: [gatortalk] meyer makes it official--osu bound
Spurrier is the only gator to ever coach at UF. It hurts that he coaches a rival, but that's life. It's like your ex-wife marrying your best friend. It's awkward, but you make the best of it. As for the rest of them, they're just doing a job that they are well paid to do. End of subject. None of them (except SOS) belong on the wall. Meyer is gone. He did a good job while he was here (well, actually while TEBOW was here, but that's another subject), and he's moved on. So what? Why are we still discussing him? Let him go. I'm in favor of Muschamp over bringing Meyer back. He gave up on us. He was toast. He will become toast at OSU also. It hurts my feelings he went there, but, I sure don't want him back at Florida! In fact, I have a bigger problem with Spurrier than Urban! I love what Spurrier has done for UF but that was not the right thing to do, IMNSHO. He could have gone back to the ACC. At the time, he was asking for the UF job and we refused to even interview him. Had he left UF for USC, I could agree. But he left for the NFL at a time when he had a severe rift with Foley. The NFL didn't work out, our position comes open, he hopes to have the job back but it already been promised to Urban (despite our claims that we were going to interview minority candidates - remember that?). He then takes the USC job. To me, that was about as threatening as taking the Vandy job. Sure, USC has beaten us a couple of times under his watch, but only when we had lousy teams anyway. -Zeb -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us
