You raise a good point, these guys can handle cooler room temps IF
there is a heat source available. To encourage breeding, they should
be cooled for a few weeks with heat available for only a couple of
hours per day, or not at all. Cooling should ONLY be attempted with
healthy animals. I've been keeping a group of 7-10 breeding animals
for the past 5 years. I've lost 2 during winter cooling and now
only reduce them to 60-65 F (night) 72-75 F (day) for 3-4 weeks.
I also do not feed during this period or for the week before.
