Hi;

I wanted to ask if calciumlactate is the same thing as calciumcarbonate.

I bought a product called 'calciumcarbonate' at a local drugstore.
I asked them if they had a calciumrich product that I can give to my
gecko's, and they told me that 'calciumcarbonate' is the best product
for this purpose.
It is a very fine white powder.

I wanted to put some of this calciumcarbonate in a dish and put this in my
terrarium, but I am not sure if it's possible, I mean, is this stuff not
to strong or to concentrated to give it this way to my gecko's.

I also read in a book about 'calciumlactate' and i'm not sure what the
difference
is with 'calciumcarbonate'.
Is there a diffence in the dose of calciumcarbonate or is this always the
same?
I mean, can I give my gecko's a dish of calciumcarbonate that is to strong
for
my gecko's?

Will the gecko's eat or lick on this product when they have a need for extra
calcium (ex. gravid or females en grow...), or is this not the right way to
offer
my gecko's some extra calcium?

Thanks in advance;

(ps. sorry for my bad English, I'm not used to write in English)
