I save, remove the inner cardboard liner, and thoroughly wash the
plastic lids on instant coffee, peanut butter, etc. jars. I have a
collection in different colors, depths, sizes. I use them as plant
saucers and as water dishes (shallow ones) and mealworm feeders (deeper
ones) for my gex. If the mealworms do get out, they are invariably found
under the lid.** They are free and constantly renewing themselves - so I
can just throw the used ones away!

**I raise a few mealworms, and have found that if I put a yogurt lid or
similar plastic lid on top of the open coolwhip container in which I
breed them, they will concentrate under the top - makes for easy picking
at meal time!
