Hi Ronnie,
The gecko list messages are archived at http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/

It sounds like you have done some good work and your data is encouraging.  The references to "egg box" are because the box we are using contains an egg inside of a deli cup to monitor for rough treatment.

Welcome to the gecko list and consider joining GGA.

Subject: Re: [Gecko] Egg Box Arrived

Hi,

I have a suggestion that might help if it hasn't been mentioned yet. If you wrap the heatpack in a paper towel is will retain it's heat longer. I did a similar experiment late last year and the inside box temps had a min of 66 - max 84 while the outside temps went from 40 to 82. I shipped overnight through UPS from Orlando FL to Poway, CA. I used my own box with 2 layers of 3/4" Cellofoam poly panel EPS R2 Insulation which left an IS box diameter of 10 w x 14 l x 4 1/2" h. I punched four 1/4" Dai air holes, 2 in each short end of the box. I velcro strapped the digital thermometer base to the inside of a Rubbermaid shoe box and taped a paper towel wrapped 40 hour + heatpack to the other end of the shoe box (which had a row of 8 or so 3/16" holes in each long side) and the probe was ran outside one of the air 4 airholes. I showed the counter help at UPS what the probe was about so they didn't think it was a bomb or something then taped the box closed and out it went.

I just joined the list so if there is a compilation of this thread that tracks your endeavors could you point me to it? What's the story with the egg?
