Lyle, your thermometer was the Springfield. When it arrived to me, it wasn't
working properly. It would go blank completely, then half of a number was
displayed and so on.
I replaced it with one of my Radio Shack units.
Also, each person said the same thing about the heat packs. All were cold
(or at least not warm) when box was opened. Seems that longer lasting heat
packs are necessary for sure.
