Chuck and others,
I understand the reasoning behind becoming a member... and I understand the
reasonings behind some of the responses that Chuck's post caused. This list
IS offered free of charge, and if you want the added benefits, THEN you join
the club... but we all need to remember, that if all of us "freeload"
*smile* after a while, we might actually lose this list... it does take
money!
I am one of the "freeloaders" for a couple of reasons... I just got my
geckos and want to learn before I commit to a membership (I am not sure if I
can keep them due to financial reasons), second - to my pocketbook $30.00 is
a lot of money for something I am not 100% involved in... yet....and for
another, I am still listening to this list and making a decision about
whether it's worth it to continue subscribing, much less joining... I have
learned a lot, but a lot of this list is more than just about leopard
geckos... all that I have... It's not a decision that can be made quickly,
based on someone trying to "force" me into membership. If and when I am
ready to join... only then will I. I just hope that this list is still
there when, or if, I decided to join.
