The tank I am trying this thing on is a 55 gallon aquarium with Cunningham
skinks in it. There are about 4 inches of sand/soil/mulch and some large
rocks. My worry is that without ample space between the pad and the glass
that the substrate would cause the problems discussed in the directions. do
you think that, with that much substrate, a 0.5" space between the pad and
the tank bottom would work (if attached to the stand under the tank as was
suggested)?
I currently have it on the back of the tank and so far, I can't tell if
anything but the back glass is warming up. And, with all the arboreal glass
climbing that large terrestrial skinks do (LOL)...... It doesn't seem to be
heating the air much, although the skinks are spending more time sitting on
the rocks in front of that part of the tank than they used to.
