I had a male Phelsuma Quad Quad expire the other day .This was one of the 1st
gex I had aquired and was surely wc.His age I speculate to be at approx 5-6
years at time of death.
He did indeed follow the path you laid out to his demise
in which he was still eating yet had lost weight and visably looked thinner,
in the last days he looked OLD
and was only a frail animal a far cry from the vibrant male of a few years
earlier who flung himself constantly at the glass of his enclosuer  so
indignantly.
It wuz his time no bout a doubt it.
I have held to the belief that exceptional specimens of the smaller Phelsuma
subspecies may live to 8-10
but the norm would be 5-7, just my Opinion.
